John Robinson
Director
John qualified as a Solicitor in 1993 after obtaining his law degree from Leeds University and completing his training at the College of Law. Leading North East matrimonial finance Solicitor with a highly regarded reputation for no nonsense negotiation and speedy resolution of issues. Much sought after with a reputation for quickly indentifying central issues and problem solving. John leads the Cygnet Family Law finance team and welcomes new instructions throughout the area on a daily basis. Please feel free to call him for initial advice.
Peter George Medd
Director
Peter was admitted as a Solicitor in 1977 and has worked exclusively in family law for over 20 years, establishing Cygnet in 2001. As Principal Solicitor, Peter has oversight across the broad range of matters we deal with. He has a particular expertise in public law cases involving children, including international adoptions, abduction and surrogacy. A member of the Law Society's Children Panel since its inception, Peter acts for parents, family members and children involved in care proceedings and he is highly regarded as an expert in this specialist field. He also has extensive experience in probate and conveyancing.
Nick Brundall
Associate
Nick joined in 2011 to oversee the opening of our second office based at the Kirkleatham Business Park, and the expansion of the private client department. Nick was admitted as a Solicitor in 1998 and worked for a leading North East firm in Newcastle, before returning to his roots in Redcar. Nick specialises in the making of Wills, dealing with any probate issue, trust matters, elderly care concerns, and Lasting Powers of Attorney. When dealing with a highly emotional and sensitive area of law, Nick offers a personal, friendly and sympathetic approach.
Jessica Barrowman
Associate
Jessica completed her training at Cygnet and qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has quickly established herself as an outstanding advocate specialising in Children and Public Law cases. She has strong communication skills, an eye for detail and a distinctive personality. Jessica has conducted many contested hearings in respect of children matters including in the High Court with excellent results and has secured a respected reputation amongst all other professionals. Jessica is a member of the Law Society National Children Panel and is also a strong supporter of rights for children and their families.
Lindsay Pierson
Associate
Following a number of years with Cygnet Lindsay qualified as a Solicitor in 2006.All her early training and post qualification experience has focused on Children Act proceedings and she acts regularly on behalf of parents, extended family members and children in serious child care proceedings, extending to cases where the child has sustained serious non-accidental injuries. Lindsay is a highly regarded and strong advocate, prepared to stand her ground against all the odds.
Kelly Dobson
Associate
Kelly obtained an LLB before completing her Legal Practitioner Course at the College of Law in York. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 2004 and has practised at Cygnet since 2006. Kelly has a particular expertise in matrimonial finance, civil partnerships and Children Act matters. She is particularly committed to combating domestic violence, maintaining strong links to EVA Women's Aid.
John McEnaney

John is senior legal clerk and deals exclusively in public Child Care work, John has a background in Local Authority Children's Services. The immense knowledge and experience he brings to Cygnet has proven invaluable in resolving complex and serious child care issues.
Anna Porter
Associate
Anna is another outstanding asset to the Family Law Team having joined Cygnet as an Associate Solicitor in January 2011. She is recognized as a rapidly developing legal talent exercising her intuitive negotiating skills to great advantage. Her empathy with and sympathetic understanding of clients problems has created for her a strong and expanding client base.
Sandra Murphy
Sandra joined Cygnet with many years’ experience in dealing with property matters. Her seniority adds great strength and weight to the dedicated and experienced team. Sandra specialises in residential conveyancing including, sale and purchase, re-mortgages, repossessions and transfers of equity. Sandra enjoys getting to know her clients and operates an “open door” policy whereby clients are welcome to call into the office or telephone at any time. Sandra provides a friendly and personal service to her clients and tries to make each transaction as stress free as possible.
Vicci McGee
Vicci is a long standing member of the Cygnet team whose knowledge and client skills are second to none. She prides herself on ensuring that clients are fully informed at every stage and has an eye for the practical details which are so important to those moving home. Vicci specialises in conveyancing and also operates an "open door" policy so clients can call any time. Vicci is a key member of the conveyancing team and would be delighted to act for you.

Practice Manager, IT specialist, Personnel Officer and just about everything else! Lisa has had 25 years experience working in the field of family law and has been with Cygnet since the Firm was established in 2001. She has been indispensable and a driving force behind Cygnet's success and has overall responsibility for quality control, office management and administrative systems. Her talents and commitment are such that she can turn her hand to a multitude of roles within the Practice and has an indepth understanding of the service provision required and client care. She ensures and demands consistently high standards.
